ADM/Mites 2019-2020

ADM Hockey is the next step after beginners for kids from 6-8.  The ADM is USA Hockey’s nationwide player-development program for youth hockey associations. It’s based on age-appropriate, age-specific competition and training for boys and girls, beginning with their first steps onto the ice and carrying them through age 18 and beyond. The ADM places a heightened emphasis on skill development and long-term athlete development principles, providing a blueprint for the best possible youth hockey experience.

At its core, Red, White and Blue Hockey is high-performance training at 8U Mite. It’s playing cross-ice games and conducting station-based practices and is designed to get the best out of each and every player.

In this environment, a player’s activity level skyrockets because their engagement level increases, which leads to an increased skill set and love of the game. Drills are designed to focus on multiple skills and situations, increasing time with the puck and situational repetition. The goalies are also more involved in the drills because they get more shots to stop. It’s been proven that kids who begin their hockey training in this environment develop a better foundation of skills and hockey instincts, and enjoy the game more.

It’s because of this emphasis on fun and development that we’re asking associations, teams, coaches and parents to include station-based practices and cross-ice games at the 8U Mite level. Doing so is an important part of the development process at this age.  The seven and eight year olds will have the opportunity to play in the WNYAHL Jamborees, the teams will be determind by Coach Olson.  The mites will also participate in some other tournaments that will give the six year olds the opportunity to participate in.

The cost of the ADM program is $375 with a manditiory $100 fundraising fee due at the time of sign ups.  The full amount of $475 is due by the time your child takes the ice in October.  There will be another maditiory fundraiser that will be collected by November.
